Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ VisitMaldives) has launched an advertising campaign with Connoisseur Circle.

Connoisseur Circle is an exclusive magazine for luxury hotels and destinations worldwide targeting an elite audience of travel enthusiasts in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. According to MMPRC, aim of the campaign is to showcase the distinctive areas of the Maldives, as well as our special products and experiences, in GermanĀ on print and digital channels while aiming to reach the elite audience in the German-speaking markets. Campaign will run from 2022 to January 2023.

In order to retain presence in the premium market and promote the Maldives as a top-of-mind destination, the campaign will make use of a variety of platforms in both online and offline channels of the publication. Advertorials in print publications, editorial articles in online magazines, posts and promotional videos on social media, website banner displays, and features in newsletters are just a few of the campaign’s elements that are dispersed throughout the year. The content will highlight the products and unique experiences of the Maldives, as well as a focus on nature-related activities aligned with the strategy for the target market.

Moreover, as part of the campaign, it is estimated to send newsletters to 30,000 customers and getting 21,000 monthly visitors to the website. Also to reach additional 14,000 Facebook and 29,500 Instagram followers. There will be distributions of 47,000 copies in Germany, 25,000 copies in Austria, and 9,000 copies in Switzerland. MMPRC believe that the campaign with Connoisseur Circle will strengthen the Maldives’ brand presence among affluent German travellers.

A total of 732,884 travelers have arrived in the Maldives as of June 29, 2022, including 67,608 visitors from Germany. In the German-speaking world, MMPRC has participated in important trade shows as IMEX 2022, IMM Germany, and ITB Digital Business Day. Furthermore, MMPRC also conducted marketing campaigns with TUI Austria, TUI Germany, Condor, and FTI so far this year. Media and influencer familiarisation trips, social media campaigns, destination e-learning campaigns, and a Maldives roadshow in Germany are also in the pipeline for the rest of this year.

MMPRC carried out 260 different marketing activities in 22 global markets last year, including fairs, roadshows, familiarization trips, marketing campaigns, webinars, and interviews. The greatest testament to the success of these activities came late last year, as the Maldives secured the title of ā€˜World’s Leading Destination’ for the second consecutive year.
