The land for establishing Dhamanaveshi in Kulhudhuffushi City has been officially handed over to Road Development Corporation (RDC), the contractor for the project.
During a ceremony held at the City Council, the agreement was signed by State Minister Ismail Shareef on behalf of the Health Ministry. Ahmed Hassan, Manager of RDC, signed on behalf of the corporation, while Nazima Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, signed as the hospital representative. Deputy Mayor Ali Ahmed signed the agreement on behalf of the City Council.
The project, which was awarded to RDC on March 12, 2025, is valued at 23 million rufiyaa and is scheduled to be completed within 18 months. According to the Health Ministry, the Kulhudhuffushi Dhamanaveshi will be a two-story facility offering all services currently available at the Male’ Dhamanaveshi.
The services will include vaccination programs, child growth monitoring, tobacco cessation programs, and various health awareness initiatives, mirroring the services provided at the Male’ facility.
It’s worth noting that the previous government had initially awarded this project to North Coast Private Limited on September 8, 2022, with a contract value of 26.6 million rufiyaa. However, that project never materialized.
Coinciding with this development, the Finance Ministry has opened bidding for the establishment of a quarantine facility at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH). The bid submission deadline is set for August 25th.
