Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH) announced that the Speech therapy services provided by the hospital are ongoing successfully.

According to the Speech and Pathologist Dr. Sreesham, KRH has successfully provided speech therapy to more than 150 patients. This includes patients with difficulty in speaking, ADHD, and Autism. Moreover, Dr. Sreesham highlighted that therapy sessions are provided to paralyzed patients admitted in the hospital as well.

However, Dr Sreesham is concerned since psychiatric therapies are not offered at KRH. As a result patients have to travel Male’ to receive the treatment. Some of the patients require psychiatric therapy along with Speech therapy, and it will be convenient if both services are available in KRH, Dr, Sreesham added.

Speech therapy services were introduced in KRH back in March 2020.
