The largest Economic project in the Maldives to be launched in Ihavandhippolhu

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the largest economic project to be launched in the Maldives will be launched in Ihavandhippolhu. 

The President made the remarks while speaking with the residents of Ha. Hoarafushi yesterday as part of his visit to the islands of Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani and Noonu atolls.

He stated the government has been setting up various important companies, laying the foundation for expanding the country’s economy in all directions, including tourism industry, fishing industry, agriculture industry and a new creative economy.

As an example, the president highlighted the government’s newly formed Maldives Industrial Development Free Zone Company, which includes five major government companies. The project by the company in Haa Alifu Atoll will be the largest economic project to be launched in the Maldives, he added.

Moreover, the President stated that irrespective of the name given to a project, the benefits of the project will be important for the people. 

Furthermore, he stated with the progress of project from land reclamation bringing investments, several jobs will be created and projects will be awarded to small and medium businesses. Therefore not for this particular atoll, the  people of the entire country will also benefit,” he stated.
