CS Womens are the champions of the women’s division of ‘Kumundhoo Council Futsal Challenge 2023’, organized by the HDh. Kumundhoo Council.
The women’s division final match of the tournament was played between CS Womens and Beach City Womens on Monday evening. CS Womens won the match 2-0. Raashidha Moosa from CS Womens was selected as the best player of the final match.
Top five players of the women’s division of the tournament are: Fathimath Zaraa Adam – CS Womens, Raashidha Moosa – CS Womens, Raaidha Moosa – CS Womens, Saaidha Hassan – CS Womens, and Haleemath Yoojina Ibrahim – Beach City Womens.

Moreover, Shazla Hassan from CS Womens was selected as the top scorer of the women’s division. She scored 3 goals. Mariyam Lameesh from Sandhiya was selected as the most promising player of the tournament. And Fathimath Zaraa Adam from CS Womens was selected as the best player of the tournament.
A total of seven teams participated in the men’s division of the tournament. They are Atto FC, Beach City Sports Club, Xeeru Sports Club, Unity Football Club, Lantern Football Club, Football Club Juvenis and Lions. And a total of three teams participated in the women’s category of the tournament. They are CS Women, Sandhiya and Beach City Women.
Kumundhoo Council has stated that the purpose of holding a futsal competition is to establish unity and harmony among the athletes of the island, inculcate the spirit of sports, create the talented athletes in the island, and provide more opportunities to develop the skills of the emerging athletes.
Furthermore, a cash prize of MVR 14,000 was given to the winner and MVR 7,000 to the runners-up.
