1,000 tree planting program underway in Sh. Foakaidhoo

Several trees have been planted in Sh. Foakaidhoo yesterday as part of the program to plant 1000 trees in the island.

The event was organized by the Foakaidhoo Council in collaboration with Foakaidhoo Women’s Development Committee (WDC), Foakaidhoo Health Centre, Fenaka Foakaidhoo Branch and Foakaidhoo School.

According to Foakaidhoo Council, trees planted yesterday was out of the 1000 trees to be planted this year as part of the Foakaidhoo Council’s island greening program to mark World Environment Day. Foakaidhoo Council commenced planting trees in March as part of its 2022 work schedule to island greening program. Under the program, 1000 trees will be planted this year.
