“Madhrasathul Ghazi Mohamed,” a school built by the local council specifically for pre-school education in HA. Dhidhdhoo, was officially opened last night.
The school was inaugurated by the Member of Parliament for the Dhidhdhoo constituency, Abdul Latheef Mohamed (Latheebe), at a ceremony held in Dhidhdhoo.
The President of the Dhidhdhoo Council, Abdulla Rasheed, told “Thiladhun” that the school was constructed at a significant expense by the Dhidhdhoo Council.
According to information provided by Abdulla Rasheed, the school was developed to include six classrooms, a staff room, an administrative office, and a four-room accommodation block.
“In reality, this school is 84 years old; it is the third school established in the Maldives. It is a place where many people from this island, this atoll, and other islands have received their education,” Abdulla Rasheed said.
Abdulla Rasheed noted that while the institution is approximately 84 years old, it was known as “Madhrasathul Ghazi Mohamed” until about 15 years ago. However, the name was changed to “Ghazi Mohamed Pre-school” around 15 years ago. He added that with the redevelopment and reopening last night, the school has been restored to its original name, “Madhrasathul Ghazi Mohamed.”
Currently, 160 students are enrolled at Dhidhdhoo Madhrasathul Ghazi Mohamed.
