Officers from the Hdh. Nellaidhoo Police Post have initiated a special program to visit households across the island.
According to Hdh. Police, this social initiative, which began last week, aims to further strengthen the relationship and foster camaraderie between the police and the community.
During these visits, officers are engaging with residents to identify their concerns and gauge public perception of police services.
Hdh. Police further noted that these visits are also being used to gather essential information required for the formulation of this year’s departmental work plan.
Additionally, the police are identifying individuals who need to obtain or renew their land vehicle driving licenses. This effort is part of a broader initiative to enhance police assistance in providing essential services to the public.
As part of this program, on January 13, 2026, officers also visited households in Nellaidhoo where children had recently undergone circumcision. All staff from the Nellaidhoo Police Post participated in these visits, covering a total of six homes to check on the children’s well-being and distribute gifts.
Furthermore, the police presented the children with a written message of advice and encouragement. During these visits, officers met with the families to seek their views and suggestions.
