Ahmed Shamah Rasheed, who served as the Managing Director of State Electric Company (STELCO), has been dismissed from his post, and the temporary management of the company has been handed over to Deputy Managing Director Dr. Ali Azwar.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) confirmed Shamah’s dismissal today.
Shamah was appointed as the MD of STELCO after being removed from his previous position as State Minister at the Ministry of Fisheries.
Notably, while Shamah previously served as the Managing Director of MIFCO, he was suspended and subsequently dismissed following allegations of misconduct within the company’s management.
Upon taking over the temporary management of STELCO, Ali Azwar has begun implementing several administrative changes. Consequently, the individual previously serving as the Head of Procurement has been dismissed.
Asfa Hussain, who previously held the position of Bureau Head, has now been appointed as the new Head of Procurement.
