Kumundhoo Sports Club, representing Kumundhoo, has won the championship title in the Women’s Division of the “Thiladhekun Futsal Tournament 2025,” organized by the Hdh. Atoll Council.

Kumundhoo Sports Club clinched the championship by defeating Nolhivaranfaru Sports Club from Nolhivaranfaru 2-1 in the final match played this afternoon.

Kumundhoo took the initial lead in the match. The goal was scored by the team’s captain, jersey number 13, Saida Moosa. Saida scored the goal in the 7th minute of the match by slotting the ball into the net after receiving a pass from Alee. This marks Saida’s 11th goal in the tournament.

Before the end of the first half, Nolhivaranfaru equalized the score in the 17th minute. The beautiful goal was scored by Huzaiela Mohamed Rasheed, jersey number 22, from a corner kick taken by Hamida Hussain, jersey number 19.

The goal that secured the championship for Kumundhoo was scored in the second half by Naufah Ibrahim, jersey number 8, who calmly struck the ball into the net from outside the area after it deflected off an opposing player.

The closing ceremony of the tournament will take place tonight following the Men’s Division final. The match, which starts at 20:30, will feature Beach City Sports Club, a team representing Kumundhoo, competing against Naivaadhoo Trainers Sports Club from the host island, Naivaadhoo.
