The Operating Theatre at HA. Atoll Hospital Temporarily Closed for Renovation

The Operating Theatre at HA. Atoll Hospital has been temporarily closed for essential renovation work.

The Atoll Hospital today awarded the work to MNB Constructions. The hospital stated that this work is an important step taken to further strengthen and improve the quality of the hospital’s services.

This renovation is a project the hospital had been anticipating for a long time. This is due to the deterioration of the operating theatre building’s roof and structural damage worsening over the years. This project will provide a solution to the challenges faced in performing surgical procedures.

The hospital thanked the Ministry of Health for their oversight and authorization for this important work. HA. Atoll Hospital noted that this project will establish a safer and more suitable environment for patients and staff to perform surgical procedures.

While the construction of the extension building to provide CT scan, mammography, and X-ray services at HA. Atoll Hospital was awarded to Perfect Malafahi Maldives Private Limited on November 26, 2025, the foundation stone for the new five-story building of HA. Atoll Hospital was also laid on November 22.
