The Kulhudhuffushi City Council extended a warm welcome to local athlete Ahuna Nizar, who represented the Maldives in the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship 2025, as part of the Maldives National Women’s Relay Team that won a bronze medal.

The Maldivian women’s relay team secured third place in the 4×100 meters relay, clocking a time of 47.79 seconds at the competition held at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium in Ranchi, India.

The team included Ahuna Nizar from Kulhudhuffushi City, alongside Aishath Shaba Saleem, Hawwa Muzna Faizu, and Ziva Moosa Shafeeu.

Recognizing her outstanding performance, the City Council described Ahuna’s achievement as a moment of pride for the entire “Heart of the North” community.

“The crucial role played by an athlete from Kulhudhuffushi in securing the bronze medal for the Maldives is a proud achievement for both the city and the nation,” the Council stated in a message celebrating Ahuna’s success.

Upon her arrival in Kulhudhuffushi, Council members Athifa Ali, Ridhwan Mohamed, and Ibrahim Ahmed, along with other council officials, welcomed Ahuna at the airport, congratulating her for her dedication and accomplishments on the regional stage.
