Students from three schools in Kulhudhuffushi City have received important information on cyber security, as part of nationwide efforts marking International Cyber Security Month.

The awareness sessions were held yesterday under the “Friendly Police Initiative” (Ekuveri Fuluhunge Harakaai) , a program conducted by the Maldives Police Service to promote online safety among youth.

The sessions took place during the assembly periods of Jalaluddin School, Afifuddin School, and Hdh. Atoll Education Centre.

During the sessions, students were educated on preventive and recovery measures against cybercrimes, including:

  • Strengthening security of online accounts

  • Using unique passwords and enabling two-factor authentication

  • Keeping software updated

  • Recognizing phishing attempts

  • Avoiding the use of unknown USB devices

The Maldives Police Service continues to conduct this initiative across islands to raise awareness among students and institutional staff about the risks of cybercrime and the importance of digital safety.
