Aishath Reesh Naseem (Vattaru, Ha. Dhidhdhoo) has clinched ‘Haa Alifu Atoll Emme Aligadha Thari 1445, securing the first place in the ‘Dhi-Foundation Haa Alifu Atoll Emme Aligadha Thari 1445 Quran Competition’ organized by Middle Sports Club and Haa Alifu Atoll Council.

The grand finale show of the competition was held at Thila Uthuru Maalam of Haa Atoll Education Center on 29th night and was graced by Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed.

The first night of the final round of the competition was held on the 28th night. Top 5 contestants of the competition performed in the grand finale as well. In this regard, a question was  asked to each contestant on memorized, non-memorized, and a speed round on religious and quran knowledge held.

With the highest aggregate marks on boths nights of the final, Aishath Reesh Naseem clinched the title.

  • Second place: Abdullah Zain bin Mohamed – Shehenai, Ha. Dhidhdhoo
  • Third place: Maryam Aza Adhil – Jeeza, Ha. Dhidhdhoo
  • Fourth place: Fathimath Rif-aa Rushdhee – Nayaa Andhaazge, Ha. Kelaa
  • Fifth place: Aishath Neeshan Adam Nafiz – IV, Ha. Dhidhdhoo

The winner of the competition was given three Umrah trips as a prize. Apart from this, special trophies, shash, cash prizes and other prizes were also given. The other four finalists were also awarded several prizes. This includes cash prizes.

According to Middle Sports Club, purposes of the competition are to inculcate love for reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of the people of the atoll, to revive the art of reciting the Holy Quran in according to Tajweed, encouraging to memorize the Holy Quran, to encourage the developing Qari’s and Hafiz’s. In addition to develop participants who can compete at national and international competitions and to increase awareness about the Holy Quran.
