Minha Abdul Muhaimin has clinched ‘Nellaidhoo Emme Aligadha Thari’ title, securing the first place in the ‘Nellaidhoo Emme Aligadha Thari’ Quran Competition organized by HDh. Nellaidhoo Council.
Final round of the competition was held on March 28 and 29. Closing ceremony of the competition was held after the grand finale held on the 29th night. Top 5 contestants performed in the final.
Minha Abdul Muhaimin won the competition with highest points on aggregate after performance of both nights of the final round. Aishath Maldha secured the second place, Eema Mohamed Imadh with third place, while Aishath Saha won the fourth and Aishath Raisha won the fifth place.
The winner of the competition was awarded with ‘Nellaidhoo Emme Aligadha Thari’ Shield and a cash prize of MVR 30,000. A cash prize of MVR 10,000 was awarded to the runner-up and MVR 5,000 to the second runner-up.
The objectives of conducting the competition include increasing the love for the Holy Quran among the local population, creating people who know how to read the Quran in accordance with Tajweed, creating people who know how to recite the Quran beautifully, promoting memorization of Quran, and inculcating the spirit of reciting the Quran.
Moreover, he with Ramadan being the month the Holy Quran was revealed, increasing the importance given to the Holy Quran among the people during this month, creating hafizs in the island and preparing children who will represent the island in the Quran competition held at national and international level are among the objectives of the competition.
