Badges has been handed over to the first batch of students of ‘Young Fisher’s Club’ a pilot program held by Maldives Fishermen’s Association in collaboration with Ha. Ihavandhoo School.
The badges were handed over to the students at a ceremony held at Ihavandhoo School Hall on Thursday evening. A total of 35 students, including 25 female and 10 male students completed the program.
The Young Fisher’s Club, which was conducted on the Sea Scout concept, provided various programs on the fisheries sector to the participants, including how to view the weather, how to look at the charts, and with the programs were held with the help of people with experience in the field. The students were also taught how to plant and take care of the corals.
The program was sponsored by Dhiraagu. The program was launched on September 30, 2022. This is the first such initiative in a school in the country so far for such a concept.
