President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reassured that the development of an airport on Sh. Dhiguvelidhoo will proceed as pledged during the campaign.
President made the remarks while speaking with the residents of Sh. Komandoo as part of his visit to several island’s of Bodu Thiladhunmathi last week.
Moreover, the President noted that the housing issue should be comprehensively resolved despite the island’s land being fully occupied. The President also committed to delivering permanent solutions to resolve the issues, including those related to the harbour, water and sanitation, and other development challenges the island community faces.
Furthermore, stated that the Komandoo – Mathikomandoo connectivity project will be executed after consulting with the community and will incorporate any modifications proposed by the people.
