Additional 2,000 Housing Units to be constructed in Kulhudhuffushi City

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to start construction of 2,000 additional housing units in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi City this year.

President made the remarks while speaking to the residents of Kulhudhuffushi City as part of his ongoing visit to several islands of Bodu Thiladhunmathi. 

President stated that Kulhudhuffushi City’s development would be a priority, pointing out that as promised in his presidential campaign, construction of 2,000 housing units will begin this year and  is included in this year’s budget.

He also pointed out that there is an ongoing housing project in the city and a housing project that has not been awarded to contractors yet.

In addition, he stated that 3,400 housing units would be built in the city if the work is going well. With these housing units, the city’s housing problem will somewhat be solved, but that too is not enough for the city, he added.  President highlighted that this is just the beginning.
