Hoarafushi Airport and Hoarafushi Police are set to play tonight in the final of Hoarafushi Office Exceed Nine a Side Football Tournament organized collaboratively by Hoarafushi Council and Exceed Maldives.
Hoarafushi Airport team qualified for the final of the tournament as the top team in the group with four points from two two matches of group stage, winning one and drawing one.
Both matches played by the Hoarafushi Police team in the group stage ended in a draw. They qualified for the final as the second team in the group with two points from two matches.
The final match between Hoarafushi Airport and Hoarafushi Police is scheduled to be played tonight at 20:30hrs at Hoarafushi Club Football Stadium.
The tournament was open to government offices and companies in Hoarafushi. Three teams participated in this year’s tournament. The teams are Hoarafushi Airport, Hoarafushi Fenaka and Hoarafushi Police.
A cash prize of MVR 15,000 will be given to the winning team and MVR 5,000 to the runners-up. This is the third time that Hoarafushi Council is hosting the tournament.
