Minister for Agriculture and Animals Welfare Dr. Aishath Rameela has held a meeting with the farmers of HDh. Hanimaadhoo.
The meeting was held on February 14, 2024 at meeting room of the Hanimaadhoo Council. During the meeting, the Minister urged the farmers of Hanimaadhoo to make full use of the opportunity to obtain good information related to agriculture through the agriculture center in the island.
Speaking regarding the meeting on behalf of Hanimaadhoo farmers on the condition of anonymity, stated that during the meeting, the ministry shared information about the loans given by the government for farming.
Moreover, he noted that the farmers had requested the Minister to carry out the program to teach them how to plant trees in the greenhouses currently being run by the Ministry of Agriculture in the Maldives. He also stated that he was happy that the Agriculture Minister had directly met the farmers of Hanimaadhoo and they do not get this kind of opportunity often.
Minister for Agriculture and Animal Welfare met with the farmers of Hanimaadhoo during her visit to the island to officially launch the Vertical Farming Pilot Project at Hanimaadhoo Agriculture Center.
