Minister for Agriculture and Animals Welfare, Aishath Rameela has met with HDh. Hanimaadhoo Council.
Minister Rameela met with Hanimaadhoo Council during her visit to Hanimaadhoo yesterday to officially launch the vertical farming pilot project at Hanimaadhoo Agriculture Center. The meeting was held at Hanimaadhoo council.
Speaking regarding the issues discussed at the meeting, Vice President of Hanimaadhoo Council, Firaq Mohamed stated that they discussed the increasing number of coconut trees with diseases in northern islands and decreasing the harvest from these coconut trees.
Pointing out that Council had shared with the Minister that the multipurpose laboratory set to develop at Hanimaadhoo by Ministry was shifted to Fuvahmulah was not due to lack of support from Hanimaadhoo Council.
In addition, council assured that it is not the intention of the council to stop any project that the government wanted to carry out in Hanimaadhoo.
