An agreement has been signed to start work on the development of a Boat Beaching area in Ha. Hoarafushi.
Hoarafushi Council awarded the project to Bavana Private Limited.
Speaking regarding the boat beaching area project, President of Council Mohamed Waheed stated that the first phase of boat beaching will begin soon and under the first phase a channel will be dredged and the beach will be levelled.
Waheed further stated that the vessel owners of the island are currently facing problems as there is no specific area for the vessels to dock or boat beaching area and there are no specific regulations, but with the first phase of the boat beaching area project , it will be solved. Waheed added that the council intends to develop the boat beaching area with state-of-the-art facilities in the future.
In addition, Hoarafushi Council also thanked Vice President of the Parliament, Hoarafushi MP Ahmed Saleem (Salle) for the support extended to make the project a success.
