Ha. Ihavandhoo Council has held discussions with the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources to find a solution to the stalled Ihavandhoo Ice Plant and other concerning issues.

The discussions took place during the Ihavandhoo Council’s ongoing visit to the capital male’ city to share the concerns of the island’s residents with government ministries and companies.

In this regard, Ihavandhoo Council held a meeting with Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources Ahmed Shiyam and senior officials of the Ministry on Thursday.

According to the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, discussions were held on resolving the issue of stalled Ihavandhoo Ice plant and the fish storage facility. Moreover, Ministry stated that the council has also proposed to build a fish market in the island and a Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) near Ihavandhoo.

In addition Ministry shared the update of progress Ministry’s part of ‘Haftha 14’ roadmap to Ihavandhoo Council. As part of the ongoing visit, Ihavandhoo Council is scheduled to meet with the heads of additional government ministries and some companies.
