Ha. Dhidhdhoo Council has decided to launch a special program to check the increasing number of illegal immigrants in the island.
According to Dhidhdhoo Council, they have noticed that a large number of migrant labourers are living in the island in violation of the state’s rules for the recruitment of migrant labourers.
The council further stated that the migrant workers should be taken to the island after registering in the migrant workers registry maintained by the council and they have previously announced regarding that.
The Council and Dhidhdhoo Police Service will conduct a special program in the island from February 1 to address the issue of illegal migrants living in the island.
