HDh. Finey Council has re-opened bidding for the land plots from island’s Tourism Zone.
According to the announcement by the Finey Council, six plots of 5,000 square feet each for the guesthouse business and two plots of 10,000 square feet each for city hotel business will be leased from island’s tourism zone.
Moreover, those interested can complete application form for bid registration before 12:00hrs of February 25, 2024. And according to council an online information session regarding the bidding is scheduled to be held at 10:00hrs on February 11, 2024. And only those who have registered their business with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade under Business Registration Act will be allowed to participate in the bidding.
Further, council has decided to sell bid books for those who complete bid registration. In this regard bid books for of 5,000 square feet land plots will be sold for MVR1,000 and bid books for of 10,000 square feet land plots will be sold for MVR2,000. Furthermore, bid submission and opening will be held at Finey Council on February 29, 2024, at 10:00hrs.

The decision to allot land from the tourism zone of the island was taken at the 106th meeting of the council’s fourth session held on November 02, 2023. In addition, council opened bidding for seven plots of 5,000 square feet each and two plots of 10,000 square feet each is open from the island’s tourism zone back in November 2023. However, according to sources it is re-announced after amending initial announcement.
