Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that N. Kendhikulhudhoo Harbour Upgrade and Boat Beaching area Development Project is progressing at a fast pace.

MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that new harbour basin dredging operations are currently underway at the site.

Under the project to upgrade Kendhikulhudhoo Harbour and boat beaching area development project, MTCC has to carry out 28,393 cubic meter new harbour basin dredging operations, 30,480 cubic meter maintenance dredging operations, 12,968 cubic meter channel dredging operations, 12,038 cubic meter boat beaching area basin dredging operations, 14,220 cubic meter boat beaching area channel dredging operations, construction of 130 meter revetments, a 246 meter groyne, a 249 meter meter quay wall, a 368 meter breakwater, 11m x 11m ramp, 86m x 1.5m jetty, 1,990sqm pavement, installation of harbor lights and navigational lights, installation of mooring buoys.

The MVR 73.16 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 500 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
