Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has opened bidding for Kulhudhuffushi City Airport’s Passenger Terminal Expansion and Developing Project.

According to the announcement by the RACL to find people who can carry out the expansion and development of the passenger terminal at Kulhudhuffushi City Airport, interested companies will be able to submit expressions of interest (EOI) from January 3 onwards.

As part of the expansion and development of the airport’s terminal, a 11,345 square feet terminal is open for development. The work also includes a shading in the terminal area and a change in the structure of the existing terminal. It also involves setting up other facilities to expand passenger services.

The deadline to submit expressions of interest for these works is January 9, 2024.

Kulhudhuffushi Airport’s runway was built and inaugurated by former President Yaameen Abdul Gayoom during the presidential election campaign in September 2018. However, the airport officially started scheduled flights on August 9, 2019, during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
