More than 1.7 million tourists has arrived to the Maldives as of December 03.

According to the latest tourism statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 1,703,204 tourists have visited the Maldives as of December 03. This is an increase of 12.9 percent compared to last year. During the same period last year, 1.5 million tourists visited the Maldives.

As of December 03, the highest number of tourist arrivals were from Russia. A total of 1,93,269 tourists visited the country, followed by 1,85,987 from India, 1,76,803 from China and 1,39,867 from the UK.

This year, the government has estimated 1.9 million tourists to arrive. However, it was estimated as 1.8 million tourist arrivals in the budget.

Currently, Maldives records an average of 5,000 tourists visits every day.
