Former Vice President of Maldives Media Council (MMC) Hussain Sageef has announced his decision to contest for the HDh. Vaikaradhoo constituency in upcoming Parliament Elections.

In a social media post, Sageef announced that he will be contesting to the parliament under the Adhaalath Party (AP) ticket, in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Sageef, who was also the former president of Haa Dhaalu Atoll Council, stated in the social media post that with the blessings of God, he has decided to contest for the parliament of Vaikaradhoo constituency. He also stated that he looks forward to the full support, assistance and good advice and consultation of the people of HDh. Nellaidhoo, HDh. Kurinbi and HDh. Vaikaradhoo.

Born in Vaikaradhoo, Sageef had also contested the 2019 parliamentary elections. He finished second with 995 votes.
