Ha. Uligamu Council has opened opportunity to suggest names for some special places in island.
In this regard, council stated that interested people can now suggest names for the new roads in the island and some roads that have not yet been officially named. These roads include island’s fence road, the guest house road, the road north of the football field to Fenaka, the road south of the football field to the school, and the road to the east of the customs building.
Moreover, council has also open opportunity to suggest names for some of the buildings and establishments in the island. These include children’s parks, former MTCC site offices, picnic areas, ‘rayyithunge hiyaa’, and social shelter rooms and its hall.
The Council has urged the when names are submitted to consider that it does not violates the religion, general social norms, Islamic values and laws and regulations made in the Maldives. Also to submit in clear local language in relation to the history, culture and heritage of the island.
The council is requested to complete and submit the online form to suggest the names.
