More than 1.6 million tourists has arrived to the Maldives as of November 22.
According to the tourism statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism on Monday, a total of 1,640,826 tourists have visited the Maldives as of November 22. This is an increase of 13 percent compare to last year.
As of November 22, the highest number of tourist arrivals were from Russia. A total of 188,000 tourists arrived from the country. Russia has the second highest number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives so far this year.
Moreover, the second highest number of tourist arrivals were from India, which was the highest in last year. As of November 22, 177,393 tourists had arrived from the country. And China was ranked third on the list, which was on number 27 last year.
Furthermore, England is at the top four of the list, followed by Germany at the fifth spot and in Italy in the sixth position. The United States of America is at the seventh spot on the list. France comes in eighth, Spain in nine and Switzerland in tenth.
