The Secretary-General of SAARC, His Excellency Golam Sarwar, paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
During the meeting held at yesterday afternoon at the Presidential Office, the President welcomed the Secretary-General and expressed gratitude for accepting the invitation to the Presidential Inauguration ceremony held on Friday evening.
Moreover, the Secretary-General congratulated President Dr. Muizzu on assuming office and thanked him for the invitation. He expressed optimism in the bright future of this administration and complimented the President’s Inaugural Address as powerful and inspiring.
The importance of cooperation among SAARC members for the development of the region’s nations was another topic of discussion between the president and secretary general. They emphasized how crucial it is to address issues by meaningful interacting with other SAARC members.
President Dr. Muizzu concluded by assuring the Secretary-General, to strengthening the existing relationships among SAARC member states, Maldives will provide full support and commitment.
