Mila Uthuru Futsal Tournament 2023 organized by the Shaviyani Atoll Council is scheduled to begin today.
This year’s tournament will be played in two islands. The Group A matches will be played in Sh. Goidhoo. The teams in the group are Kanditheemu, Feevah, Noomara, Feydhoo, Billeffahi, Foakaidhoo and Goidhoo. The Group B matches will be played in Sh. Maaungoodhoo. The teams in the group are Lhaimagu, Milandhoo, Komandoo, Funadhoo, Maroshi, Narudhoo and Maaungoodhoo.
Moreover, the opening ceremony of the tournament will be held in Maaungoodhoo at 15:30hrs today and the closing ceremony of the tournament will be held in Goidhoo. Further, Maldivian Football legend Ali Ashfaq is the chief guest of this year’s tournament.
In the first match of Group A, Kanditheemu will play against Feevah. In the second match, Noomaraa will play against Feydhoo. And the third match of the day will be played between Billeffahi and Goidhoo. Furthermore, Lhaimagu will play against Milandhoo in the first match of Group B. In the second match Komandoo will play against Funadhoo and the third match of the day will be played between Maroshi and Maungoodhoo.
This year’s tournament is the second edition of the tournament and last year Funadhoo was the champion of the tournament.
