More than MVR 300,000 has been raised from activities carried out in Sh. Funadhoo, to raise funds to assist the Palestinian people who have been affected by the atrocities committed by Israeli forces in Palestine.
Funadhoo Council in collaboration with the island’s institutions, NGOs and the people of Funadhoo organized a series of activities from October 28 to November 4, to raise funds to help the affected Palestinian Muslims. The activities held in the island to raise funds to help the affected Palestinian Muslims received a total of MVR 300,226.02.
Moreover, of these activities the largest amount of donation was received from employees of various institutions in the island. A total of MVR 95,544 was received as donations from the employees of Funadhoo Institutions. This includes one day’s salary for the employees working under Funadhoo Council, the Island’s Women’s Development Committee (WDC) and the Funadhoo Council. That’s more than MVR 14,000.
Furthermore, the fund boxes set up in the mosques in the island have also received huge amounts. That is MVR 83,856.75. A total of MVR 5,104.56 was received from the fund box set up at Funadhoo Hospital, while MVR 77,464.71 was received from the sale of T-shirts and other activities.
