Budget has been allocated for 6 new development projects in HDh. 3 islands of Vaikaradhoo constituency.
Under the budget for the fiscal year 2024, MVR 8.6 billion has been proposed for the Public Sector Investment Projects (PSIP). And 6 new development projects in HDh. Nellaidhoo, HDh. Kurinbi, and HDh. Vaikaradhoo has been proposed in the new budget.
In Nellaidhoo, budget has been earmarked for three new projects. In this regard MVR 300,000 has been earmarked for setting up a dinghy platform on the island, while MVR 150,000 has been earmarked to build an indoor gym on the island. And MVR 220,000 has been earmarked for the construction of a Futsal Ground.
Moreover, in Kurinbi has two new projects, of which MVR 800,000 has been earmarked for the construction of a multipurpose hall in the island’s school and MVR 400,000 for the construction of a youth center in the island. And for Vaikaradhoo to set up swimming area on the island that MVR 5,53,930 has been earmarked in the budget.
According to the total budget allocated for ongoing projects, awarded projects, contracted projects, tendering, pre-tendering, retention and new start-ups in the three islands, the total budget of Vaikaradhoo is MVR 6,766,004. The total budget of Kurinbi is MVR 8,110,585 and the total budget of Nellaidhoo is MVR 3,168,083.
The Finance Ministry has submitted a budget of MVR 49.5 billion to the Parliament for the fiscal year 2024.
