The ‘Fathama Hingaa’ swimming program held in Ha. Thuraakunu has been concluded and certificates has been given to the participants.
According to Thuraakunu Council, the program was a joint initiative of the Council, Feena Swimming Academy, Dhidhdhoo Police Club, Swimming Association of Maldives, Island School and Atoll Council. And the program was conducted from October 17 to 28.
A total of 50 students participated in the program, including 19 girls and 31 boys. Moreover, among the participants, 39 students who had learned how to swim as per the standards accepted by the swimming association were given certificates stating they know how to swim.
According to the Council, the certificate was handed over to the participants by the guest of honour Ha. Atoll Commander Inspector of Police Adam Mueen at the closing ceremony of the program.
The council stated the objective of such a program was to ensure personal safety in the event of an incident at sea as the large part of the country is sea.
In addition, Thuraakunu Council appreciated all assisted in organizing the program. In particular, council thanked President of Swimming Association Mohamed Abdul Sattar.
