Land Reclamation of Ha. Vashafaru and Ha. Hoarafushi included in next year’s budget

Budget has been allocated for Land Reclamation of Ha. Vashafaru and Ha. Hoarafushi in the stated budget for 2024.

The Finance Ministry has submitted a budget of MVR 49.5 billion to the Parliament for the fiscal year 2024.

Under the budget for the fiscal year 2024, MVR 8.6 billion has been proposed for the Public Sector Investment Projects (PSIP). And Land Reclamation of two islands from Haa Alifu Atoll has been proposed in the new budget.

In this regard, land reclamation and coastal protection of Vashafaru have been included in the budget, while land reclamation and construction of housing units in Hoarafushi have also been included in the budget. MVR 4,600,000 proposed in the budget for each project.

In addition, MVR 4,064,798 has also been included next year’s budget for the Ha. Thuraakunu Land Reclamation Project, which is already awarded to the contractor.
