Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that Quay wall block installation work under Sh. Maaungoodhoo Harbour Development Project has been completed.
MTCC also updated on ongoing works stating that 57% of new barbour basin dredging work, 70% of harbour paving work has been completed and quay wall concrete works under way at the project site.
Under the project to develop Maaungoodhoo Harbour MTCC has to carry out 59,013 cubic meter new harbour basin dredging operation, 3,245 cubic meter channel dredging operations, construction of a 362 meter breakwater, a 105 meter revetment, and a 312 meter quay wall. In addition, installation of mooring buoys, installation of harbour lights, installation of street lights, installation of 1,509 square meter harbour pavement, construction of a ramp and concrete jetty.
The MVR 56.79 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 475 days.
MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
