Draw ceremony has been held for the ‘Thila Dhekunu Volleyball Tournament 2023’ organized by Haa Dhaalu Atoll Council.
Draw ceremony of the tournamrmt was held a small ceremony held at HDh. Vaikaradhoo Council. The tournament is being held for the clubs/NGOs of the atoll. The tournament, which includes both the women’s and men’s divisions, is scheduled to be held from November 3 to 14.
A total of five teams participated in the women’s division of the tournament. They are Nolhivaranfaru Lycan, Team Hanimaadhoo, Neykurendhoo Women’s Volleyball Team, Vaikaradhoo Team Viyes and Kulhudhuffushi Hirafus Sports Club. And four teams participated in the men’s division of the tournament. The teams are Team Hanimaadhoo, Vaikaradhoo Viyes Volleyball Team, Kulhudhuffushi Club Corals and Team Naivaadhoo.
The tournament is planned in a way which all teams compete with each other and team with the most points to reach the final. And second slot of the final will be given to the winner of semi-final between second and third placed team.
The semi-finals are scheduled to be played on November 12. The finals are scheduled to be played on November 14.
A cash prize of MVR 30,000 will be given to the winning team from each division and MVR 15,000 to the runner-up team from each division.
