Yaisha Yasir Ibrahim of Ha. Ihavandhoo, Dheyliyaage, has won the first position in the ‘Haa Alifu Atoll Ran Thaaju Quran Competition’ held to select participants to represent Haa Atoll Council for the 36th National Quran Competition.
The competition was held from May 26 to 28 at Ha. Maarandhoo. The closing ceremony of the competition was held at Maarandhoo School Hall on October 28, morning.
As the winner of competition, Yaisha Yasir Ibrahim received Umrah trip sponsored by Al-Hijra and Travels as a prize. Fathimath Rifaa Rushdhee of Ha. Kelaa, Nayaa Andhaazuge won the second place in the competition. And Lamlam Abdulla Adam of Maarandhoo, Sosunge won the third place in the competition. Moreover, Ha. Dhidhdhoo won the first place from the islands, Ha. Ihavandhoo won the second place and Ha. Kelaa won the third place.
A total of 108 participants from 13 islands of Haa Atoll participated in the competition this year. Out of 108 participants 72 participated under the school and 36 participants participated individually. The objective of holding the competition is to inculcate the love of reading the Holy Quran among the people of the atoll.
A total of 24 students have been selected from Haa Alifu Atoll Ran Thaaju Quran Competition to represent the Haa Atoll Council in the 36th National Quran Competition. The students were handed over the return tickets given by the Atoll Council at the closing ceremony.
