The three-storey building constructed by the current government at Sh. Narudhoo School has been put to use.
With the new building in use, Narudhoo School’s teaching has been changed to single-session from this week onwards.
According to Hassan Shujau, who is in charge of the school, stated that, even though the building was officially inaugurated during president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s visit to the island, the building was not in use as certain works needed to be completed.
Moreover, Shujau stated that students, parents and staff were facing problems as school was operated in two sessions. And school was not able to carry out extra curricular activities due to space constraints. However, it would be resolved as classes has been started in a single session.
The three-story new building for Narudhoo School features six classrooms, a staff room, a health room, and a computer laboratory.
Currently 147 students are enrolled in Narudhoo School and there are classes from grade 1 to 10.
The government has spent MVR 9.2 million on the new building developed at the school, which was awarded to Wavelength Private Limited.
