Ibrahim Nahil Nizar has been selected as the best male and Ahuna Nizar as the best female athletes of the STO Makita Junior Athletics Championships 2023 held in Kulhudhuffushi City.
Junior Athletics Championships was held from October 15 to 20. The best female athletes of the tournament, Ahuna is from Jalaluddin School and she is also an athlete of National Team. Nahil, who was selected as the best male athlete, is an athlete from the Track and Field Association. He is also a member of the National Team.
Nahil won gold medals in the 100m and 200m long jumps and was also selected as the best under-20 male athlete. Ahuna won gold medals in the 100m and 200m triple jumps and was also selected as the best under-17 female athlete. The Track and Field Association was selected as the men’s champion team of the tournament. Jalaluddin School was selected as the women’s champion team.
In this year’s Junior Championship a total of 1,124 athletes competed from 35 schools of the country. They are 505 female athletes and 619 male athletes.
In addition, a total of 37 athletes set new records at this year’s Junior Championship.
