HDh. Nolhivaram council has decided to organize a Khatm al-Qur’an program in the island to mark this year’s the day Maldives embraced Islam.
According to the council, Khatm al-Qur’an program will be held on Tuesday, October 17. Council also stated that only those who can recite the Quran fluently can participate in the program.
Therefore, council request those interested in the program to note their names by sending a Viber message to the 9943547, before 14:00hrs of October 14. Moreover, council request to contact the same number to clarify any query regarding the program.
Maldives embraced Islam in 1153 A.D.The day Maldives embraced Islam is celebrated every year on the 2nd day of Rabiul Akhir. This year, the day falls on October 17.
