This year’s ‘Hiyala Expo’ is scheduled to be held in Haa Dhaalu and Shaviyani Atoll and has open applications for participation.
According to the Business Centre Corporation (BCC), this is an Expo for Women to celebrate International Domestic Workers’ Day and World Women Entrepreneurs’ Day.
BCC stated this year’s Expo is being organized by the company’s Kulhudhuffushi City Branch in collaboration with Kulhudhuffushi City Council, Women’s Development Committee (WDC) and HDh. Atoll Council.
The Expo, which has been held since 2021, was held in Kulhudhuffushi City only for the city that year. Last year, it was open to all islands in HDh. Atoll and Kulhudhuffushi City.
Therefore, based on the experience of the past two years, this year’s Expo is open for both HDh. Atoll and Sh. Atoll, and scheduled to be held in Kulhudhuffushi City on December 2, 2023.
Moreover, BCC stated that local products can be sold and can be included in the judging on a commercial basis. The five main areas where local products can be judged are cakes/pastries, long-lasting/packed snacks, production from sewing/items made from fabrics and crafts.
Furthermore, participation in the ‘Hiyala Expo’ is open till October 30, the age groups for participation are 16-25 years, 26-35 years, 36-50 years and above 51 years of age.
