‘Bodu Thiladhunmathi Nursing Conference’ organized by Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH) Nurses and Community Nurse Volunteers (CNV) has been concluded successfully.
The conference was held with 58 participants at the Maldives National University (MNU) Kulhudhuffushi City Campus Hall on Thursday, September 28, 2023. This was the first-ever nurses’ conference held in the country outside of Greater Male’ region.
Set as a theme of ‘Trends in Nursing Profession: Challenges, Innovation and Education’, the conference was aimed to educate nurses in the region about the changes in this service in the nursing profession and around the world, and to identify and discuss the challenges of providing services through a platform like this. It also seeks to open up an open dialogue environment and submission of academic papers related to nursing services.
Moreover, a number of experienced people worked as facilitators of the conference, while Dyrk Ubinck, professor in the department of surgery at Amsterdam University in the Netherlands, conducted a session on ‘How to Practice Evidence Based Practice Tomorrow’. Villa College’s Nursing Facility Dean Dr.Asma Ibrahim conducted a session on ‘Nursing as a Profession (Trends)’ and CNV also conducted sessions.
In this regard CNV President Nazeera Najeeb and Media Coordinator Mariyam Niyan conducted the session. Abdul Muhaimin Ibrahim, Senior Manager Distribution, Ooredoo, conducted a session on Effective Communication. And Nurses from Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital and Region also conducted sessions and submitted papers.
Chief Executive Officer of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital Ahmed Dawood presided over the closing ceremony of the ‘Bodu Thiladhunmathi Nursing Conference’. Furthermore, heads of institutions in the city and the senior management team of the hospital were also present on the occasion.
