Haa Alifu Atoll Council has opened the opportunity to participate in ‘Thila Uthuru Futsal Tournament 2023’.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on November 3, 2023, and this year’s tournament is being held in Ha. Maarandhoo in association with Haa Atoll Council and Maarandhoo Council.
According to the Atoll Council, only one team from each island can participate in the tournament. And the players will be considered from the island if they are registered in the island before January 1, 2023.
Therefore, teams wishing to participate in the tournament are requested to complete the application form and submit their applications to the Atoll Council before 12:00hrs of October 8, 2023, or mail it to the council’s email address. And players registration form should be submitted to the council before 12:00hrs of October 22. And team list submitted should have the stamp of the council and signature of a senior official.
The objectives of organizing the tournament are to promote friendship and harmony among the islands of the atoll, promote social bonds and promote the spirit of sportsmanship.
The winning team will receive a cash prize of MVR 30,000 while the runners-up will get a cash prize of MVR 15,000 and fair play team will receive MVR 10,000. And several other positions will be selected and awarded.
The first edition of ‘Thila Uthuru Futsal Tournament’ was held at Ha. Utheemu last year and Ha. Filladhoo were the champions of the tournament. This year the second year the tournament is being held.
