Agreement has been signed to conduct ‘Haa Alifu Atoll Emme Aligadha Thari 1445 Quran Competition’ organized by Dhidhdhoo Middle Sports Club and Haa Alifu Atoll Council.
At a ceremony held at Atoll Council agreement was signed by Mohamed Saeed on behalf of the Middle Sports Club, who assigned as the in charge of the competition from clubs side and on behalf of the Atoll Council President Moosa Shafeeq signed the agreement.
In the last two years during the Ramadan competition was held under the title ‘Dhidhdhoo Emme Aligadha Thari’ by Middle Sports Club. In those two years, the competition was held for the residents of Dhidhdhoo only. However, at the closing ceremony of last year’s competition, the Middle Sports Club announced that the tournament will be open to the entire atoll this year. This year’s competition title is ‘Haa Alifu Atoll Emme Aligadha Thari 1445 Quran Competition’.
Speaking to regarding the competition behalf of Middle Sports Club, Nashwan Ibrahim stated that under the agreement signed with the Atoll Council, the resources of the Atoll Council will be used to the conduct of the competition and the atoll council will cooperate in coordinating with the islands participating in the competition. He added that the main functions of organizing and running the competition will be carried similar to last two years by the Middle Sports Club and in collaboration with supporters of the Middle Sports Club.
The top 20 contestants from auditions will be given the chance to participate in the competition, and three slots will be reserved for the citizens of the Dhidhdhoo. Participants from Dhidhdhoo will also be able to compete for the 17 slots dedicated for the entire atoll. 03 slots reserved for the citizens of the Dhidhdhoo will be selected after selecting 17 participants open for entire atoll and among them top 3 participants those who are not selected among 17 participants will be given the reserved slots. Three slots have been reserved for Dhidhdhoo as the island hosts and organize the competition.
