The Thila Dhekunu Quran Competition organized by the Haa Dhaalu Atoll Council has begun in Kulhudhuffushi City.
Haa Dhaalu Atoll President Mohamed Siraj inaugurated the Quran competition at a ceremony held at Afeefuddin School on September 21, 2023. Competition scheduled to conclude today.
A total of 188 students from 15 schools in the atolls are competing in this year’s competition. Out of the 188 students, 118 students participated in the non-memorized category and 70 students participated in the memorized category.
Qari Ibrahim Shifau, Qari Ahmed Thaufeeq and Qari Ibrahim Shareef are the judges of the competition.
The tournament is being held in Kulhudhuffushi City this year as no island has shown interest in hosting the tournament.
