Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has reinstated the policy of paying 50% of its employees’ salaries in US Dollars.

According to sources, MACL has reinstated the policy and has now informed its employees regarding the decision made by the company.

Initially 50% of the company’s employees’ salaries were paid in dollars when the Indian company GMR operated the airport. However, it was put on hold during the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently, more than 3,500 employees are employed at MACL.
