Ha. Thuraakunu Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project officially commenced

Ha. Thuraakunu Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project has commenced officially.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure awarded Ha. Thuraakunu Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Under the project, sand search surveys, 8.16 hectares reclamation operations, and construction of 1215 meter revetment will be carried out. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) also will be conducted as it is part of the project scope.

The MVR 152.04 million project was awarded to the company to be completed within 630 days.

MTCC has been undertaking many development projects throughout the country including building roads, airports, land reclamation, shore protection, and harbours.
